Solar Panels FIRST PLACE

Drexel Solar is a solar power-harvesting system that integrates with a 16-inch- (406-mm-) wide (minimum) Drexel metal roof system from Drexel Metals Corp. The ultra-thin amorphous silicon photovoltaic laminate film can be adhered to the roof panels just before installation. The “peel and stick” adhesive can withstand 160-mph wind loads.


Stucco Panel Finish

McElroy Metal’s line of performance-grade steel panels are available with a stucco finish. The finish, which is created before the rollforming process, provides a unique look for metal components. The panels should help when zoning issues restrict the use of standard metal panels, and the finish is available through all 18 McElroy Service Centers and 10 manufacturing facilities.


Louver Line Expanded

Airolite has expanded its line of extruded aluminum drainable louvers to include Types K6744/CB6744, K6774/CB6774, K6746/CB6746, K6776/CB6776, K6844/CB6844 and K6856/CB6856. The louvers, designed to minimize water penetration through wall openings, are available with visible or concealed mullions in frame depths from 4 to 6 inches (102 to 152 mm) and in many color options.


Creating Net-free Vent Air

Critical for any roof design utilizing ventilation, Metal-Era Inc.’s Hi-Perf Ridge Vent provides proper venting at the ridge. The product is designed to accommodate individual venting requirements; it is manufactured proportionately to provide the correct amount of net-free vent air. The metal construction withstands heavy snow loads and does not compress under stress.


Rainwater Collector

The RHEINZINK-Rainwater Collector allows at least 60 percent of runoff to be easily collected from a downspout. The product allows rainwater coming from a downspout to be collected and stored in a tank or barrel for future use, and it can be retrofitted seamlessly into a downspout without soldering. The collector has a GARDENA hose connector valve, allowing all 1/2-inch (13-mm) garden hoses to be connected.



Adjustable Screwdriver

The ST 1800 Adjustable Torque Screwdriver from Hilti is designed for fast, reliable metal fastening. The product adjusts to 18 settings from 1 to 22 Nm; has a 1/4-inch (6-mm) hexagon socket; and has a reversing switch.



Transparent Sealant

Chem Link’s transparent polyether sealant, CLEAR, can be used in almost any high-visibility sealing application. It is made from 100 percent solids and is solvent free, containing zero VOCs. The solvent is not subject to sun-tanning, is not flammable, and does not shrink or smell.



Pre-insulated Panels

Rigid Building Systems’ pre-insulated panels arrive on-site complete and ready for installation to reduce erection time and eliminate installation errors. The panels include: RW-2000 (ribbed wall panel), RW-3000 (shadowline wall panel), RW-5000 (embossed wall panel), StuccoPlus (stucco wall panel), RHR-9000 (hi-rib roof and wall panel) and the RFW-1HR (1-hour fire-rated wall panel).



Improved Grinder

The Bosch small angle grinder has motor technology and airflow improvements, resulting in 40 percent longer life over previous models. The eight new 4 1/2-inch (114-mm), 50-inch (1,270-mm) and 6-inch (152-mm) 1800-series grinders replace the previous generation 1700-series models.



Impact Ready Line

Dewalt has introduced its Impact Ready line of impact driver-qualified power tool accessories. One of the first products in the line to be introduced is the Impact Ready 38-piece accessory set, DW2169. The set includes Impact Ready six-point deep sockets in the most common sizes, nutsetters, socket adapters and screwdriving bits.
